[ Audio/Video ]

[ First comes a video of darkness. There's the sound of metal clicking against metal multiplied by a hundred, and the slightest red glow. Then dozens of red lights turn to look at the camera - robot eyes. They swarm, and the video ends.

The broadcast turns to audio. ]

The ventilation system in the school is quite deep. I did not see what was at the bottom, but there was a great deal of moving metal.

You explored the vents? I am really, really curious about them!

[ The killer clusterfuck at the bottom is disconcerting, but she has some important questions first: ]

You said the ventilation system is deep—do you mean that it seems to extend below the building itself? I have a suspicion that these "vents" were not really used for air conditioning, and I have never heard of a forced-air system laid out like that.

Glad to hear from you again.

You say those things don't look too much like spiders. Could you describe them in more detail? I don't know if you got a good look at them either, but it's hard to see on the tablet.

Could you see red lights in the moving metal at the bottom, too?

That would seem to confirm that the "spiders" come from under the town, where Miller and Eve are. Are you any good at estimating falling distance?
