[ Audio/Video ]

[ First comes a video of darkness. There's the sound of metal clicking against metal multiplied by a hundred, and the slightest red glow. Then dozens of red lights turn to look at the camera - robot eyes. They swarm, and the video ends.

The broadcast turns to audio. ]

The ventilation system in the school is quite deep. I did not see what was at the bottom, but there was a great deal of moving metal.

Where are you? What've you lost? We're still near the school. I'm so sorry I didn't pull you out fast enough.

I seem to be at the police station, and I am not sure what I've lost.

It certainly wasn't your fault.

It was partly my fault. [Such a cute kitty cat, even if he can talk. John feels awful.] I should've pulled you back from those things sooner.

Ginger, America, and England are down in the entrance area. Rhys, Angel, and Beckett, too. You might be able to get hold of one of them to help you out.

They were quite capable of chasing me down.

You said the ventilation system is deep—do you mean that it seems to extend below the building itself? I have a suspicion that these "vents" were not really used for air conditioning, and I have never heard of a forced-air system laid out like that.

There is very little to tell, I'm afraid. There was a very long drop after the metal devices took me.

Ahhhh—that is very peculiar, though! And whatever grabbed you—I guess the spiders?—would need a lot of room for there to be so many. More room than a ventilation shaft, I think.

Many seem to call them such, though hey are not particularly spider-like.

I would not know. Such things were not used last I was in the mortal realms.

You say those things don't look too much like spiders. Could you describe them in more detail? I don't know if you got a good look at them either, but it's hard to see on the tablet.

Could you see red lights in the moving metal at the bottom, too?

I did not have time to count their legs, but each possessed a red light and a singular metal body.

And yes, the writhing mass did contain red lights.

Sounds like it could've been a massive amount of them, down there. Maybe that's the 'Beast' I've seen mentioned elsewhere.

That would seem to confirm that the "spiders" come from under the town, where Miller and Eve are. Are you any good at estimating falling distance?

I could not say. I lost consciousness long before I reached the bottom

Oh, interesting. Don't people lose consciousness when they come into contact with anomalies? That lends a little credence to the theory that there's a giant one under the town.
