[ This just keeps getting worse. Did that meant that the Prophet had some kind of hold on the nanomachines? If so, this...might be a way bigger problem than he'd thought. ]
Conversion was the end goal. Apparently, sewing some coins on my damn face is supposed to fix me being greedy, though-- and then I'll be good to go! [ He barks a short laugh, and there's no humor in it. ] Load of shit, if you ask me.

I'm gonna guess they'll offer to 'give us our normal bodies back' if we agree to convert. Or something like that. They have to give us some incentive, if they really want us to make the decision.
I don't know, maybe we're just harder to brainwash and we're just in here until that part completes itself.
[ He shakes his head, not that Vasquez can see that. ]
You can't get any of it off either?

[ He's holding up surprisingly well for now-- whether or not he'll be able to keep up the bravado tomorrow is a little iffy, though. ]
Haven't tried. Can't tell where I should be going for that isn't on prime real estate. [ He gestures to his face, and almost manages to smack himself in the process. Whoops. ] But at this point? I'm not opposed to trying it just to see what happens. 'Cause-- if any of this can come off, it's gonna be go time.
cw: brain stuff, because I didn't before oops
They can brainwash us that far, I guess.
[ Of course, he hadn't tested it too far, either. He's actually fairly certain he needs at least one of those pieces to keep himself functional. ]

[ He doesn't like it, but it checks out. ]

Do you want me to describe anything for you? Being blind's gotta suck pretty hard.
no subject
Right now? Not the worst thing I could be dealing with, I'll give you that.
[ As much as he hates to admit it, there's one upside: he doesn't have to see what happened to everybody else. Cold comfort at best. ]
...anything new in here? Figure they were too busy screwing with us to go remodeling anything, but you never know. Or-- hell, what's been happening? There's...too much going on for me to sort it out.
[ Asking for help stings, but it was offered first-- that makes it fine, probably. ]

[ Vasquez can't really bring himself to be much of a smart-ass right now, and any time he even considers trying to make light of things, the sentiment dies before he can give it voice. Sylar's given him plenty to work with, and he's at least somewhat grateful for it-- better to focus on that until the next wave of torture starts. It's something to do, anyway. ]
Hey, uh-- thanks. For filling me on on shit. [ Normally, thanking anybody would've been the hardest part. He forces it out alright and moves on, a voice a little quieter than before. ] What's your name? I can think of a million better ways to make a first impression, but I'd say we're a little past that.
no subject
Guess we are. It's Gabriel. Gabriel Gray. Too bad a 'nice to meet you' doesn't really fit here, but still.
no subject
Nah, not really. But hey, we might as well get to know who we're locked in here with, right? [ It's something to do, and it's better than nothing. They didn't have a lot of other options to fill the time, that much was certain. ] Name's Vasquez. Don't think we've been introduced, so that's that out of the way.
