[Rhys is settled down for the night, in the evening hours after lockdown on 432. He's taken off all his extras to let them air out, and sitting in his ripped t-shirt and looking mostly comfortable. He's better at getting comfortable than anyone should by any rights, here.]

So, I am actually staying in the convenience store here in Res 3, because you don't get pushed out anymore? I was going to try and hike to the next building, but the aura was gone and...well, I didn't get shoved out. That's good news, sort of. Saves me a little hiking.

The Bad News is, that's probably because there's been a change to the food. Some of what's here has gone rotten, and I don't think there's as much stuff as there was last time I was here. Food might be starting to run out, along with everything else.

[He looks much less happy about that.]

I'm hoping it's just this store, but I'm not sure. So if anyone else hits any other places around that have food, do a check and see what you think, alright? I'm going to start rationing just in case, though.

[That's all he was really here to say, so the video feed blinks out for a while, pending responses.]

All right. The list of people who have been killed by these more intelligent anomalies has been growing and we need to do something about it. Not all of them mean any harm, but they're not helping, either. They're physically dangerous to us, they aren't helping us get out, and some of them want to kill us. We also have a fair few I've heard about who've attempted to or succeeded in getting into the Bunker.

Sherlock and I have talked about corralling them somewhere like the Power Plant. It'll be a lot more efficient if we have help. You lot know yourselves better than we do. If you want to try to lure your anomaly yourself, or let us know what we can do to get them over there, that would be brilliant. Right now, I've been putting messages in the buildings that are connected to the tunnels, telling them to meet us at the power plant. How we're actually going to keep them there is more of an open question.

We're taking suggestions here, as well as offers for assistance. If we can't get the anomalies under control, they're going to kill all of us, by accident or by design. I don't want to kill them, but some of them want to kill us, and we need to remove them as a threat. We don't have the resources to be wasting on revivals.

[The feed opens on a view of ceiling tiles; anyone familiar with the hospital might recognize them. Off-screen there's the sound of rustling food wrappers and the crunch of someone chewing on chips and cookies, quite possibly with her mouth open.]

I am alive again. The anomalies -- the anomalies are dangerous. The ones with our friends' faces are dangerous.

[The monotone is muffled as well as hesitant; she's talking with food in her mouth despite the gravity of the topic.]

((OOC: The first and third parts of the message is OPEN. The second part is SEMI-CLOSED to anyone with access to the Shadownet - a text only app created by Winter. It works within the Bunker. Please see this post about Shadownet distribution.

John's death price is that he can't interact with anyone. He won't see/hear messages, so he won't be responding to anything.))

Part 1 - OTA
[John wakes with a start inside his body bag. There's a momentary sense of absolute panic as he claws his way out of it, and gets off the slab he's been lying on. It's a moment to get his bearings and realize that he's in the hospital morgue. That's... not as bad as it could be. And he's fairly certain all of his memories are intact. At least one of the most important ones. John goes for his tablet first.

It doesn't even occur to him that Mary's been silent since he woke up. He can occasionally see her standing off to one side, but other than that, he's focused on the present, not the past. John double-checks the network, but there don't appear to be any new posts. Good. That means he's probably woken up the morning after being killed. As far as inconvenience goes, that's a minor one.]

Everyone, this is Dr. John Watson. Please listen closely. Rhys is in severe danger. His last known location was Building 317 on Dr. House's map. Please, if you're anywhere near there, go and check on him. He was injured during a fight a few days ago and Mr. Beckett attempted to kill him last night. I tried to stop him, but was killed in the fight. I don't know if Beckett succeeded. If Rhys is dead, Beckett may be a danger to others, particularly Enoch. Please watch out for him and please someone check on Rhys and Enoch, physically, if you're able to do so.

[He sends that out and waits for replies. And waits. John gathers his things and leaves the morgue, heading upstairs. When there still isn't a reply, he decides that maybe everyone has... somehow headed to the bunker.

'Or there's something wrong with the network,' Mary suggests. It's the first time she's spoken since John had woken up, and he glances over at her with a furrowed brow before switching on the Shadownet.]

Part 2 (half an hour later) - Shadownet Access Only
Hello? Is anyone there? This is John. There's been a serious incident. Beckett attacked Rhys last night. I died while trying to defend him. Rhys may still be alive and Enoch may be in danger. Please, could someone respond?

[Another half hour goes by as John begins walking. And then another. It's two hours later before he switches over to the regular network again. Mary's close to him now, fingers laced with his free hand.]

Part 3 - OTA
Please, I don't know what's going on, but this is Dr. John Watson. I'm heading toward Residential Zone 3. If anyone can see this message, please respond. [He looks to the side as Mary speaks up, the woman only in his own mind.

'John, I don't know there's anyone there.'

But they have to be there. The whole bloody town can't disappear overnight.

'Why not?' Mary asks.

It's a simple question, but it's absolutely chilling.]

Sherlock? Please, answer me. Alfie? Royce? Bucky? England? Stephen? Tess? Kunsel?

Anyone?

Hey everyone, it's Al.

I've made a couple of updates and additions to the survival guide recently, and I thought I should send it out again. I know that not all the information that we have is in there, but I think that's probably for the best. This is supposed to be a basic guide to help people who are new here, and too much information at once would be overwhelming. But I do think that a compiled guide of all the information we do have would be a good idea... like the posts that-- uh.

[He hesitates a moment, suddenly realising that he probably shouldn't mention Dr. Watson's information posts on the public network, when he's so careful to keep them to the shadownet.]

Well... you all know what I mean, right? But to have it all in one place would be helpful, so if anyone would be willing to help compile that, or has information that should go in it, please chime in. We can't do this without all working together. I also think it might be a good idea to have a few words or phrases recorded in every language; things like 'I need help', or 'I'm okay', so if we're unable to understand each other again then at least we can communicate that much.

Okay, well that's it, here's the guide.

[And a download of the survival guide pings up as available.]

16 April 2018 @ 09:38 am
[ There's a soft voice that comes on the network during the evening, after lockdown - it's mild, but there's an undertone in that calm that's almost unsettling. ]

Well. This place is awful, not that I need to tell any of you that. [ A beat. ] And because most of you don't bother to have private conversations, it's easy to see that there are a couple of people who seem rel-bent on making things just a little more awful.

If you've a person in mind and something worth my time to trade, I can fix any sort of issue you might have. I'm not picky, and I'm very good at problem-solving. I imagine you all can figure out how to contact me if you'd like to discuss solutions further.

[ And the feed ends. ]

[Flynn needs to know.

He's felt so useless ever since he got here, the pace of his progress feels, compared to his other adventures, glacial (heh) and now another threat is looming on the horizon and he knows it's coming, he knows, he knows and he feels so helpless in its wake.

It's unacceptable. He needs to solve this. He needs to do something before anything happens, before anyone gets hurt, before they can hurt anyone. God, they make his skin crawl. Studying Peter – if that red-eyed creature even is Peter anymore – may be a start but it's not enough.

When he hits up the network his eyes are wild but maybe that's just his regular excitement? After all, he's smiling and not yelling or pointing fingers at (you awful creatures and whatever you are plotting and have done to his friends) his audience.]

Hello Norfinbury, this is your Librarian speaking.

Yesterday I couldn't help but notice that the [horrible unholy] patterns look different on different [alleged] people and I'm curious if we can trace it back to something in our lives. Maybe there are patterns in the-- patterns? And I happen to know one or two things about symbolism, so! There may be answers there.

[He clasps his hands together enthusiastically.]

If you're affected, I'd like to hear about your worlds [if you can even provide that, you impostors] or if you recognize anything about your patterns that seems familiar to you. This might also be a potential first step for Al's brilliant idea of making a collection about our different worlds for the e-library. Really, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get started?

[Flynn smiles.]

Let's talk.

hello, snowhellions!
it's been many many moons now since the idea of a band came to me
since then, a hell of a lot of people have died
the idea kept going
unlike them
originally, i'd planned to hide away from you assholes
but it's become clear we have a common goal
and that's staying alive and rocking out

i intend to claim a turf
in fact, i intend to claim all the turf
all current and future portions of norfinbury

there will be no tax for moving through this turf
no need for guard accompaniment
take anything you want without asking
provided you can take it
we apparently don't have problems with theft or murder here, really

you wanna join?
you're in
i only ask that you accept i'm lead guitar
there may be other lead guitars
because who the hell wants to play every night?
but i'm totally one of the leads

not imposing on anyone
just offering refuge
no rules
no random ass person you don't know telling what you can and can't do
access to puzzles and supplies
so we can actually get to the center of this town and find out what the hell happened and why

i do have to mention, though
everyone is allowed on the band's turf
i trust you're not stupid enough to disrespect that
i'm sure as hell not running around policing people

oh, and the band's name is open for suggestions
current thoughts:

1. The NIMAtodes
2. The Norfinflurries
3. Blueballs
4. Frozen Metal Deathmachine
