Characters: Link and Max
Location Building 126 in square H14
Date: Day 017
Summary: Link and Max are traveling together. Link decides he can't actually leave Zelda behind despite their agreement. They turn around and backtrack. Max has cabin fever in the worst f---ing tiny building ever. Things do not go well.
Warnings: CABIN FEVER. Thankfully, not as gross as the movie. Unfortunately just as violent though. Possible foul language and definitely violence within.

Hi, everyone. If you don't know me, my name is Clarke. I'd appreciate you introducing yourself if we haven't met - I'm trying to keep tabs on everyone and make sure they stay safe.

For those of you who have been here awhile, you know that we've been talking a lot about grouping up and establishing a base camp. And you also know that we haven't done that yet. I've made a map of everywhere I've been so far, and I think I've found a good place for us to converge on. The square labeled 20 is the convenience store - there's food there. I've been told the eastern convenience store is more reliable.

I suggest we make our way there and establish a place for us to come back to, that everyone knows the location of. I haven't been everywhere, but hopefully you've been to at least some of the places I've been. If not, feel free to ask if someone else has, and maybe they can help you with directions.

Finally, one more order of business. I know most of us know each other, but I think it would be helpful to keep a list of people with abilities that may be of use. If you're trained in some sort of fighting or you know about medicine, people might need you. If you have any skills you think might be of use, please let me know and I'll start compiling a list of who to contact in case of emergency.

If you have any other suggestions, let me know. We need to be as organized as possible. We can't keep wandering around forever.

EDIT: I've been told there's two convenience stores, one to the west (on my map) and the other to the east. I'm guessing it's actually the easternmost store that gets restocked. You may be able to find food in the one I mentioned, but if it isn't going to get restocked, it's going to be mostly empty.

EDIT 2: I've updated the map with everything you've all told me. I also broke it up into quadrants.

[The previous day... was rough. Tadashi still looks haggard as he turns on his video. The circles under his eyes are darker and there's a faded set of scratches above his right eye from when last night's headache and hallucinations became so intense he injured himself while trying to force them away.

He takes a deep breath and against all odds tries to put on a positive face with a half smile. Whatever yesterday had been -- whatever happened that morning to pull them out of that spiral -- they were at least still here. And that's something he can hold onto.
]

Tadashi Hamada here. It's been a while... this is my fourteenth day here.

[As always, he's careful to state the day. His smile flickers slightly upon realizing that this makes two weeks, but he powers through.]

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I've been traveling with a small group -- I think Alphonse keeps in touch with almost everyone, so you should be up to date on that.

I do have a question. I spent today working on the door of a nearby building. I'm curious what's powering the locking feature that traps us inside every night.

[Or outside, but he carefully avoids mentioning that.]

Has anyone else tried to remove one of the doors or inspect the mechanism?

10 July 2015 @ 08:16 pm
[The feed turns on to show off the walls and floor of a building. Whoever is showing the video don't speak at first, they just awkwardly hold the camera up to show what is clearly blood on the wall and nearby floor.

It's a little while before Greed speaks up.]

Has anyone else seen something like this before? It looks like... [Like a murder happened here.]

Something happened here, beyond the residents just abandoning the town.

Characters: Zelda, Link, Max, Lea, Clayton, Clementine, and whoever these poor schmucks might hail on the network.
Location E10 (Building 50) + D11 (Building 58)
Date: Day 013, day
Summary: Using a key on a locked door is just common sense, right?
Warnings: Possible aggression and panic on the part of said poor schmucks.

(I've divided this log up into two parts to hopefully ease threading. Also if those on the door team want to make network posts about their shenanigans, just make sure to put NETWORK somewhere in the subject line! Anyone is free to answer threads marked as such, of course; hence why this log is 'semi'-closed.)

My voice is back.

[ Though for those who've heard Tim's voice before, it sounds much more hoarse than usual. Still, any voice is better than no voice! ]

I'm gonna - [cough cough] - I'm going to upload a video in a second. Some stuff I found yesterday. Kids shouldn't watch it. People who're already - you know, already freaked out by everything shouldn't watch either. It's not... I mean, it's. It isn't anything good, is what I'm saying. So.

[ He could try and filter the video away from those parties, but the thought doesn't sit well with him. The last time he tried to hide secret video footage from someone it kind of backfired spectactularly and people got killed and Tim got sent here by Tall McDarkandfaceless and everything was awful. He'd rather not repeat that, thanks. ]

video section under the cut! cw: DEAD THINGS, some grossness )

A: Network (Voice); 8am - Open

I've been doing some thinking.

[Al jumps right into it, as all forms of 'hello it's me' he rehearsed in his head, seemed stupid and awkward. He sounds content, though determined.]

My previous advice to travel westwards and southwards may not be the best now. I've been as far west and south as I can, and I've found almost nothing in the way of food or water supplies to sustain just me, let alone more of us. We need to find a place where we can scavenge, or even hunt, and that isn't to the southwest. If anyone has found any clues to where we could find anything to help us survive, please share it with us.

I know a few of you already know this, but Stephanie started a map that we're trying to put together collaboratively. It's not an exact map, that's impossible without the dimensions of this place or a frame of reference, but it's possible for us to start filling in routes based on where we have travelled in relation to the snow wall. You can find it here. The more people that can help with this, the better for all of us.

[He pauses, before exhaling audibly.]

Finally... there have been more deaths reported, and I know at least one more of them never talked to anyone here on the network. Please, if you're out there listening, don't make that mistake. We're a team here, you have to talk to us and trust us. We need to start thinking of each other as friends, not just as strangers stuck here, and that means learning about one another. So... won't you all talk to me? Tell me where you come from, and who's waiting for you to come home?

B: Closed to Clarke (Action; Day 008)

[Aside from a brief meeting with a woman early in his travels, Al has seen nobody else in person here. So it surprises him deeply when, as he is tramping through the snow, he catches sight of something out of the ordinary amongst the sea of white.

A splash of colour.

A person!

It only takes a heartbeat for Al to start running towards her, arms waving wildly to try and get her attention.]

Here! Over here!

C: Closed to Tadashi (Action; Day 009)

[After meeting with Clarke the previous day, the two of them had struck out together under the assumption that it was better to stick together. Perhaps in the enthusiasm of seeing someone else, or perhaps just out of necessity, it was close to the warning period when they eventually came upon shelter that day.

After a quick look inside, Al has slipped out again to inspect the perimeter before lockdown. Imagine his surprise when he sees a familiar figure walking towards him. He may only have seen Tadashi over the video of the tablet, but he recognises him at once. The same probably can't be said in reverse, as Al always uses the voice function. So Tadashi may not be too happy about being charged down by a seven foot suit of armour with large spikes.]

D: Closed to house 60, square J11 (Action, Day 009

[Quite a few people are surprisingly converging on the same house this evening, all looking for shelter against the night cold. This section is an open one for all people in house 60 to interact with one another, not just Al.]

[The outside camera is on, focused on Enoch's hand, which is holding some foam that looks kind of like this. Both his hands are shaking a little, and he's breathing fast, definitely unnerved by everything that's happened. It appears he's just checked the network now that they've all been locked in for the night. He's muttering to himself at first, not really paying attention to the tablet.]

Screeching shadows and deaths that aren't...could this "admin" have lied, or...? Oh- oh, you've prepared the cameras already, I'm sorry.

[He clears his throat a little. Takes a couple deep breaths.]

I'm sorry to interrupt everyone, especially with all the...disturbing events happening of late. But I don't recognize this substance I've found, and I'm wondering if anyone knows it, if it could be of any use. And... [Another breath.] ...One more thing.

[The camera shifts and he sets the tablet down to stare up at the ceiling of the building he's staying in. A zipper is opened offscreen, there are some rustling sounds, a muffled clatter of metal hitting something else, and a light thump as Enoch comes back into frame, reaching for the tablet again to pick it up and reorient it, now pointing at a photo album, open to a page with photos of a protest in front of a town hall of sorts.]

Has anyone seen this building? Or if not the building itself, anything else about it, such as what it's called or where it might be?

[He was not particularly fond of the fact that these devices could broadcast videos but hey it could come in handy at times. Such as this. On the screen was a bunch of snow but above that snow was a small, black card that resembled an SD card for the tablet being held tentatively between forefinger and thumb. Max had no idea what the thing was for but he took it with him anyway. A quick search of his tablet had found a slot where it might fit. But was that a good idea?]

What does it do?

[The gruff voice was short, to the point, and did not bother to clarify any more than that.]

[His second morning here hasn't gone well. It shows from the bags under his eyes as the video feed starts for his network post. He's exhausted from his searching yesterday -- even if he didn't go very far. The doors locking last night put him ill at ease, and he had stayed up late, just listening for any signs of life outside all night.

This is Tadashi Hamada.

[His voice is scratchy from grogginess and he presses a hand over his eyes to try to relieve the burning that comes from not having enough sleep.

And this is day two for me. 10AM, if the clock is working. Looking at the posts made this morning, I'm going to assume I'm not the only one who received an injection. Did anyone see a face--notice anything misplaced or different from when you went to sleep until when you woke up?

[Off screen, there's a crunching sound and Tadashi glances down and to the right, reaching out a hand toward where the sound is coming from. Mochi, for one, is able to just enjoy the breakfast Tadashi found him. Tadashi actually feels a little bad for taking the cat food, but he assumes if anyone actually lived in the house, he can pay them back once he gets out of this mess.

He focuses on the screen again, opens his mouth like he's about to saying something else, then seems to decide against it. He's not sure who to trust, but this at least is a start -- he's reaching out and trying to get a feel for what's happening.

After another hesitation, he cuts the feed.
