A nod, it seemed that would be the likeliest outcome if they did try anything like that.

"Wouldn't be able to much else without assistance, anyway," Mycroft said quietly. "I'm sure they've thought of all means of escape, including anything self-inflicted."

"Probably," agrees Stephen with a sigh. He pauses, contemplating -- he can't hang himself in his present condition, but he's suddenly concerned despite Mycroft's apparent conviction that it would be useless to try.

"As the nearest thing you have to an attending physician, I can't recommend strongly enough against hanging yourself," he says a little too mildly.

"Then I shall have to acquiesce to your recommendation, doctor," Mycroft said, his voice neutral. He was mobile and probably could attempt several different things, and with his conviction that he would not be made to hurt Sherlock, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that he might try something if sufficiently motivated enough.

"I mean it," says Stephen, aware of the hypocrisy. He sinks back into a ~~more comfortable~~ less torturous position. "Just hold on. We all just have to hold on."
