[He huffs, and instead leads Stephen into the nearest abandoned cell, guiding him to sit down.]
This is probably going to hurt, so I need you to take some deep breaths, okay?

Eventually, though, the hands will be free.]
Okay-- okay, can you show me your eyes? Is it both of them, or just one?
no subject
Stephen is really hoping Al doesn't know what an infected eye looks like.]
The...right. My right eye. There's something in it, you need to get some saline to flush it out.
[And get far enough away from Stephen that he can make a break for it while he can see.]
no subject
[He steps in close and bends down, reaching out to try and take hold of Stephen's chin in order to try and lift his head up so he can get a proper look.
He's not a doctor, but if Stephen lets him see, it'll be obvious even to him that there's no infection in there...]
no subject
His plan to sit still and let this happen, to keep bluffing his way through this, is rapidly falling apart under the weight of Stephen's rising panic. He suddenly lurches forward and to the side, trying to duck past Al and jump to his feet all at once to make a break for it.]
no subject
Al realises in a flash that he's been taken in and his heart aches for how lost Stephen and all the other sinners are to behave this way. It doesn't stop him from lashing out one huge and strong metal hand to try and grab for Stephen before he can escape.]
HEY!!!

no subject
You lied to me! Why would you do that?!
no subject
[The timid creature who begged for help with his eyes is gone. Stephen snarls at Al, kicking and twisting in his grip.]
no subject
[He just holds Stephen tight against his chest, in a huge metal bear hug, and starts down towards the operating theatre.]
I'm going to redo what I messed up.
no subject
[There's not a lot he can actually do about that, but that doesn't stop him trying. When they get in the elevator, Stephen will make a very earnest effort to kick the panel of buttons.]
no subject
It's not going to be pretty, but Al is going to subject Stephen to sewing his hands back over his eyes as they had been before all this happened.]

no subject
I wish you hadn't made me do that, you shouldn't have lied.
no subject
This isn't...this isn't you. I know this isn't you.
[He has no faith that his words will make any difference in how Al acts toward him, not after America had been so comforting while butchering him. Stephen needs to say it for his own sake, to remind himself that on some level this isn't real.]
no subject
[He gently rests a hand on Stephen's shoulder, comfort and warmth radiating out of him even after what he's just done.]
It won't be long and you'll be yourself again, and then you'll see that I only did what I had to in order to save you.
no subject
Stop. Please, stop, don't -- don't talk to me.
no subject
Okay-- okay, I'll leave you to rest. But just try to remember what I said.
no subject
[He won't lie again about his eyes.]
