[log] Comorbidity [closed]
Characters: John Watson, Death the Kid, Franken Stein, and Undertaker
Location House 58
Date: Night 171
Summary: This is a house with a lot of problems in it. Watson, Kid, and Stein run into Undertaker for the night.
Warnings: Possible talk of death, morbid discussions.
[A simple single-story building, the snow weighs uneasily on it, and it creaks and groans under the strain at the best of times. It's very dark, and only the kitchen and living room are intact. The kitchen has a back door. Two snowmen have been built outside. A message has been written on the wall in blue ink: "Don't wreck the snowmen! That's super mean!" "ALPHONSE ELRIC, MAMI TOMOE, FREYA CRESCENT, GREED, EDWARD ELRIC, STEPHANIE BROWN, DAY FORTY ONE, TRAVELLING EAST." has been carved into one of the walls. The following has been written on the wall in blue pen: "This is Building95 97 on the composite map. Contact @CaptSteveRogers for details." Underneath this is a fairly accurate map showing the house in relation to the school and buildings 29, 35, 35, 37, 40, 41, 47, 48, 50, 53. House 34 is labeled "Medical assistance; hot, clean water. Contact Dr. Epps @claytonator". The school is labeled "School. Food available in cafeteria; DO NOT STAY HERE OVERNIGHT." The shed is labeled "Shed".]

Kid is careful not to be too silent when he approaches. He can't be, coughing a bit as he crouched next to him. His voice is a hoarse whisper:]
Dr. Watson? I...thought I heard yelling. Are you okay?
no subject
Just a bad dream. Never you mind. [He clears his throat.] Is that coughing you've got on keeping you up? I can prescribe you some medicine for it. [Let's just immediately turn this conversation toward Kid.]
no subject
Instead, the teen nods, sheepishly tucking his face into his sleeve as he coughs.] Ah...yes, sometimes. It's worse at night. [Kid glances away, uncertain.] It keeps getting worse.
no subject
It's probably MN poisoning. [John sighs.] A prescription won't help a lot, but it should help some, at least. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that, Kid. If we can get this blood transfusion started...
D'you know what blood type you have?
no subject
Yes. Type D. [Kid pauses.] ...it is a non-human blood type, I know.
no subject
The response about blood type does get a raise of John's brows.]
Type D. [Well, he's not human. Stein has told John as much.] Uh, right. Okay. Type D. Would you be willing to double-check that with the Admin, maybe? [Davesprite had shot it down as a stupid idea, but John still has the notion in his head that maybe the Admin would have done something to make every non-human's blood more human.] Or would you give me permission to ask about your blood type?
no subject
[Don't question his blood type, dude.]
I've not talked with the Admin, but I wouldn't mind asking. Or, if you've a better relationship, if you asked. [He pauses, hesitating.] If it's remained the same, a transfusion would be out of the question. Professor Stein explained to me the requirements for matching blood once, when Soul needed a blood transfusion.
no subject
[He's a doctor, Kid. It's hard to hide that you're sick, especially when you're doing a terrible job of it.]
no subject
I would want people who are more sick to get blood first. [Kid glances away, uncomfortable.] Or more...anything. I understand that this is not the only effect being here causes--I just didn't know the name. [His gaze is on the slumbering Professor Stein, a small frown on his face.] Behavioral changes, for example.

He rubs his eyes, shivering.] I hope so, Dr. Watson.
Pretend that said "He is top of my ticket..."
Come here. You can lie down next to me for a bit, all right? It's warmer with two. We should both get back to sleep. It's late.

And I think we can fade here...
